Renewable Energy Integrated Hybrid Power Architecture for Sustainable Data Centers

Abstract
This paper discusses a hybrid energy architectural model of integrating renewable energy into building sustainable medium- to large-scale data centers. The proposed system consists of a variety of supply sources including solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), utility grid connection, and diesel back-up that combine to provide the means to improve reliability, costs, and the sustainability of energy used to operate the data centers in question.
